We need 100 Black Educational Counselors by November 15, 2024!
Black student enrollment at MIT dropped
from an average of 13% to 5% in 2024
after the Supreme Court affirmative-action ruling
Be one of the 100!
Tally (BEC count): 122
Our campaign is to mobilize and deploy at least 100 alumni as new Black Educational Counselors (BECs), who can assist the Admissions Office with outreach and interviewing students with the immediate goal of improving the diversity of next year’s class.
With your interest and the help of our partners in Admissions, this is really happening. And with more BECs, we can do more outreach with immediate impact.
If you want to help identify and inspire the next generation of MIT students, and advance BAMIT’s vision to build a more inclusive MIT, we are asking you to join our campaign.
To participate please sign up to be an EC. In the “Anything else you'd like to tell us?” box, please write "BAMIT."
By doing so, you can help BAMIT help Admissions identify and encourage the next generation of brilliant minds.
Be one of the 100!
As an alumni volunteer, you serve as a vital link between the Institute and prospective students, coaching, connecting, and encouraging the next generation of brilliant minds.
